Measure words – nouns

HSK1 HSK2 TBCL1 TBCL2
Measure words are elements that function similarly to counting units. They combine with numerals, forming numeral–measure word phrases which indicate the number of items.

Structure

In a sentence, a numeral–measure word phrase is often combined with a noun referring to the people or objects being counted. In such cases, the measure word is usually placed between the numeral and the noun or noun phrase.
